Meet Dr Oliver Cronin
Dr Oliver Cronin is a Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist. From low-risk cancer screening to high-risk complex endoscopic procedures, Oliver endeavours to provide dedicated, evidence-based, professional and compassionate care. He is passionate about precision medicine and individualised care. He is a firm believer in disease prevention and early detection.
Oliver’s interventional expertise includes high-quality gastroscopy, colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy for the detection and effective endoscopic removal of pre-malignant polyps and early cancers. He is particularly proficient at bowel cancer screening (including positive FOBT) and risk stratification in high-risk populations (e.g. family history of polyps or cancer; polyposis syndromes).
In addition, he is skilled in the management of upper gastrointestinal issues such as gastro-oesophageal reflux disease , Barrett’s oesophagus and treatment of achalasia.
Oliver was selected for a prestigious Fulbright Future Scholarship to attend NYU Langone, an innovative, high-volume quaternary Endoscopy centre in New York (USA) and has only recently returned to Melbourne. He is currently completing a PhD at the University of Sydney with a focus on high quality, safe and effective endoscopy.
Oliver specialises in gastroscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy; Bowel cancer prevention; Removal of large, complex polyps and early (localised) gastrointestinal cancers; Barrett’s oesophagus, reflux, achalasia.
